JULY 28, 1965: ON SUSAN ROCES' 24th BIRTHDAY--- A SURPRISE VISIT FROM FPJ

In 1965, Susan Roces celebrated her 24th birthday while filming Jafere's Dandansoy with lead star Bob Soler in La Union, Pangasinan. The cast and crew were at Cresta Ola Beach Resort when FPJ made a surprise visit. He came unannounced and unexpectedly. A romantic sight indeed!

Writer Baby K. Jiminez chronicled the much publicized Susan-Ronnie romance in an exclusive special issue of Screen Stardom in 1967. Aptly titled "The Susan- Ronnie Love Calendar," Ms. Jimenez was able to record the love affair of the two top stars from March 1965 to February 1967. Here's the first of the three part series.
