"BATANG QUIAPO" (1986) AT CINEMA FPJ, DEC. 27

A 1986 movie, Regal Films' "Batang Quiapo" will be shown this Saturday, December 27, at Cinema FPJ at 4pm. Though it was shown a few months back, this was one movie you want to see it again. It's always fun to watch Maricel Soriano, the only movie she did with The King of Philippine Movies, FPJ.

LOS PALIKEROS: ON LOCATION (1963)

Joseph Estrada, in an interview with QTV-Special (Ang Pinaka- Paboritong FPJ Movie) vividly and candidly remembered (smiling and bursting with laughter) Los Palikeros (1963) as the only movie he and buddy FPJ made which didn't do well in the tills for a simple reason that moviegoers don't believe that he and FPJ were really 'palikero' or playboy in real life.

MY TOP TEN WISH LIST FPJ MOVIES

Top of my wish list is "Lo' Waist Gang (1956)"

What are the top 10 wish list FPJ movies you haven’t seen and you want and wish to see in the future? Top 10 in my list are: 1. Lo’Waist Gang- 1956 ( I want to see how he performed in his launching movie) 2. Anak ni Palaris- 1955 (his first movie and how he looked as a fifteen-year old teen) 3. Kamay ni Cain-1957 ( he played a villain in this movie, that’s something worth seeing) 4. Bicol Express- 1958 (another movie where he also played a villain, this time as a psychopathic killer) 5. Batang Maynila- 1962 (the initial offering of FPJ Productions- he invested and gambled his hard-earned money to produce this movie) 6. Ako ang Katarungan- 1962 (a Gerry de Leon movie- any movie by the great director is something to be watched and seen) 7. Apollo Robles- 1961 (another Gerry de Leon movie) 8. Sakristan Mayor- 1961( he played a sacristan, how about that!) 9. Walang Daigdig- 1960 (FPJ’s first movie as a producer along with buddy Zaldy Zshornack)) 10. Walang Pagkalupig- 1962 (one of the earlier screen tandem of FPJ and Joseph Estrada- the movie ad looks great). The next five movies, though I’ve seen it already but love to see it again, in my list are: 1. Zamboanga- 1966, 2. Divina Gracia- 1970, 3. Mapusok na Paghihiganti- 1962 ( I’ve seen the movie as a kid, the movie that got me hooked on FPJ), 4. Masikip ang Daigdig- 1962 and 5. Mano-Mano- 1964 ( he teamed up with the boxing legend, Gabriel ‘Flash’ Elorde),
What yours?

QTV-11: "ANG PINAKA"

A QTV-11 show, “Ang Pinaka,” hosted by Rovilson Fernandez, recently came up with a list of Ang Pinaka Paboritong FPJ Movie, which was aired December 14, coinciding on the fourth death anniversary of Action King, Fernando Poe, Jr. From about 250 movies FPJ did in the span of five decades, trying to name the 10 top favorite FPJ movies is a herculean task to tackle, extremely exhausting, tedious and debatable. One has its own list. I have mine, yours too.

Here’s the list:

10. Zamboanga (1966)

9. Ito ang Maynila (1963)

8. Santiago (1970)

7. Ang Leon at ang Daga (1976)

6. Ang Agila at ang Araw (1973)

5. Ang Maestro (1981)

4. Perlas ng Silangan (1969)

3. Asedillo (1971)

2. Aguila (1980)

1. Ang Panday (1980)
